Integrated Governance for Charities, SMEs & Non-Profits
Hands-on corporate governance consulting and compliance implementation — eliminating procedural risk across your organisation.
Corporate Governance Consulting & Operational Assurance
For charities, SMEs, and non-profits, operations happen in real time. Tight resources, shifting regulatory demands, and complex service delivery leave no room for procedural bottlenecks or ambiguity.
Whether you are a trustee setting strategic direction, part of the management team overseeing daily operations, or frontline staff executing critical tasks, active and embedded corporate governance is essential. Static documentation — the 'dead policy' problem — creates friction that directly impacts your workforce capability, funding compliance, and service outcomes.
This governance consulting and operational implementation service adapts to your specific risk profile. It is designed for leadership teams defending resource decisions, management driving daily execution, and staff collaborating across local or regional networks.
Gary Justice doesn't just advise — he builds the exact manuals, workflows, and operational collateral required to eliminate procedural friction across your critical points of execution.
The 4 Core Governance Domains
Hands-on implementation across your critical operational risk areas, including:
1. Cross-Functional Process Integration — Aligning workflows into a single practical system so departments coordinate effectively without duplicating effort.
2. Risk, Assurance & Information Governance — Managing operational risk frameworks, including incident reporting workflows, third-party vendor compliance, and ICO data inventories.
3. Workforce Capability & Statutory Compliance — Translating complex statutory duties — spanning employment law, health & safety, and structural inclusion (EDI) — into practical, everyday employee workflows.
4. Policy Development & Operationalisation — Drafting clear corporate policies and building the exact Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required to turn statutory rules into reliable frontline actions.
Governance & Compliance Services
Effective corporate governance is not a one-off exercise — it is a structured, ongoing process. For charities, SMEs, and non-profits operating under real resource constraints, that process needs to be practical, embedded, and built around how your organisation actually works. Gary Justice delivers governance and compliance implementation across three connected stages, each designed to move your organisation from risk exposure to operational confidence.
1. Governance Audit & Assurance
Establishing exactly where your operations stand.
Assurance Capture: Designing mechanisms to capture frontline operational data so management has an objective view of working practices.
Board Reporting & Presentation: Translating frontline operational data into clear, objective reports for trustees, and managing board communications or presentations when required.
Data Protection Inventories: Conducting comprehensive audits of data processing activities to ensure alignment with ICO requirements.
Inclusion & Accessibility Audits: Assessing your everyday operational processes to identify where physical, procedural, or communication barriers exist for staff and service users.
HR & HSE Compliance Checks: Auditing current employment and safety practices against statutory requirements to identify operational gaps.
2. Build & Operationalise
Writing the governance manuals, compliance frameworks, and workflows to fix the gaps.
Policy Development & Implementation: Writing and operationalising policies across HR, Health & Safety, Data, and Risk so they exist as working procedures, not static documents.
Integrated Management Systems: Weaving isolated operational policies into a single, unified compliance framework.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Designing practical operations manuals that translate complex governance rules into frontline actions.
Operational Risk Registers: Building tracking tools for managers to log, monitor, and mitigate daily risks.
3. Consolidate & Train
Embedding governance and compliance processes into daily organisational behaviour.
Accessible Policy Formatting: Translating complex corporate policies into 'Easy Read' formats, ensuring Equality Act compliance and genuine comprehension.
Targeted Compliance Training: Designing operational learning sessions so your teams can confidently execute new HR, HSE, and data governance frameworks.
Cross-Functional Working Groups: Facilitating targeted groups to resolve friction, improve communication, and ensure policies are practically applied across departments.
Staff Induction Programmes: Facilitating tailored sessions to ensure new staff completely understand their statutory duties and operational responsibilities.

Gary has designed and delivered governance frameworks, risk and policy management systems, and board support structures across healthcare, education, and corporate settings — including data protection and cyber security governance as a qualified DPO, and compliance and quality assurance programmes across regulated sectors.
